Pacific Resilience Program
This activity aims to build the financial resilience of PICs against natural disasters by providing both national and regional instruments building upon the PCRAFI catastrophe risk insurance pilot. These instruments will PICs to secure access to immediate liquidity post disaster for low, medium and high risk events. This activity will develop a new financial instrument designed to co-exist with the catastrophe risk insurance pilot to cover to those disaster which occur once every 10 to fifteen years providing access to finance for disaster that would not trigger an insurance pay
Building Resilience to natural disasters in Lao
To improve the capacity of the Government of Lao PDR to prepare for and respond to natural disasters by strengthening the legal framework for hydro-meteorological services, enhancing the efficiency of recovery planning, and developing options to reduce the fiscal exposure to natural hazards.
Pacific Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance Pilot
To increase the financial resilience of the Pacific Island Countries (PICs) against natural disasters and their post-disaster response capacity. This will be achieved through the provision of technical assistance and advisory services on the financial and macroeconomic management of natural disasters to the ministries of finance.
