E-learning -- Disaster Risk Finance in the Pacific: Get Ready to Respond!

A new e-learning program has been released to help finance personnel in Pacific island countries prepare for disaster response operations. Using case studies and country-specific information, Disaster Risk Finance in the Pacific: Get Ready to Respond! highlights the importance of finance in disaster preparedness and response, introduces learners to disaster response organizational structures and, describes the responsibilities of finance personnel during response operations.

The 60 minute, self-paced course is designed for both finance and non-finance government personnel involved in disaster response operations in Pacific island countries. The course will also be of benefit to non-government organizations, the private sector, and students of finance, public administration and disaster risk management.

Disaster Risk Finance: Get Ready to Respond! complements the existing e-learning Disaster Risk Finance in the Pacific. Both courses are developed as part of the Pacific Catastrophe Risk Assessment and Financing Initiative (PCRFAI Program).
