An Executive Education Program on Disaster Risk Finance for Bangladesh
The World Bank in collaboration with the University of Dhaka’s Center for Policy Research on Business and Development will deliver an Executive Education Program on Disaster Risk Finance, targeted to key government stakeholders. The program will build technical capacity across key government ministries to develop a shared understanding on disaster risk finance and insurance (DRFI), greater awareness of the country’s existing DRFI strategy, and support prioritization of activities/ solutions that may strengthen the country’s financial preparedness approach.
The program will: i) engage a diverse mix of practitioners—primarily from government, alongside academia and development institutions—to ensure broad institutional representation and peer learning; ii) strengthen participants’ understanding of core DRF concepts and instruments; iii) deepen familiarity with Bangladesh’s National DRF Strategy and its priority areas; and iv) build technical capacity and foster inter-ministerial collaboration.
